Frequently Asked Questions of the ETD
Initiative
|
| |
|
| |
1. I want a computer to use when I need one
(frequently the ones in Newman are full). |
| |
The Graduate School has placed copies of Adobe PDFWriter (printer driver) and
Adobe Exchange (PDF editor) in the various labs around campus. Additionally, many
departments have this software in their own labs. Please have your department contact
us for more information. |
| |
|
| |
2. I worry about getting help when I need
it. |
| |
We suggest that you learn the software you will need to use long before you
defend. If you know what features are available you may be able to be more creative
with your ETD.
Please see the ETD Initiative, the New Media
Center in Torgersen Hall and your department for training information.

3. Where can I find the Adobe Exchange
software? |
| |
See our labs page, ETD Labs.
Also, you may purchase Adobe Acrobat from the
University bookstore
(PCs and Macintosh). Adobe products come with extensive documentation.
Documentation specific to ETD production is available on this Web site.
